Video: A similar event took place in the fall of 2014. At that time there was a concert called "I'm Looking for a Way" named after the song of the same name.

Already supported by the Cultural Endowment, now it's your turn! Concert "Sõpradeks jääme" ("We Will Stay Friends"), which will take place on December 7, 2019 at 7 pm in the main hall of the Rakvere Cultural Center, is primarily a choir concert to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Male Choir Rakvere. But it's not just a party of local choirs in the community center of the county center, but at the same time a small additional contribution to the preservation of Estonian cultural memory.

Thanks to this concert, after a break of more than 40 years, a song (after which the concert is named) that has almost sunk into oblivion, is brought to the audience again. And of course arranged for the male choir. Plus, as even the composer's heirs have no copy of the song's score, this one will be restored by hearing 1971 sound recording.

Helmut Aniko's "We will Stay Friends" (text by Heldur Karmo) participated in the Estonian Radio Song Contest "Tippmeloodia" ("Top Melody") in 1971 and was then performed by Tõnis Mägi. Helmut Aniko, a jazz musician, wrote mostly instrumental music and "We Will Stay Friends" is one of his very few songs (according our information as few as four). The song did not win prizes at the competition, but still was played for a few more years on the radio and is one of the best, if not the best, examples of Estonian original R&B music.

Of course, you will hear traditional a cappella choral songs, but in addition to the title song of the concert, there will be other songs of other genres tailored to the male choir. Both the Male Choir of Rakvere and the co-choir will perform, be it Kuusalu Male Choir, Chamber Choir Solare or vocal ensembles Sõbrad and HaLe MaJa.
