Young Estonian girls to the Snowboard Junior World ChampionshipsUser's  Merit Oiderma project in the category Sport

Hey!

We are Triinu Marta Oiderma, Maarja Liis Rahumeel and Laura Anga: we’re freestyle snowboarders from Estonia, training at Nõmme Snow Academy.

Our snowboarding season has been very successful so far. We’ve won medals in Estonian and Finnish youth cups, Estonian Championships as well as the World Rookie Tour competition series.

The most important competition of the season is ahead - the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Junior World Championships, taking place in New Zealand from August to September this year. The Championships are especially important to us because competing there gives as a chance to secure our spots in the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics.

The Junior World Championships are taking place during Estonian summer. Our snowboard season usually ends in April, but this year we need to extend it until August. This also means we’re unable to train on snow at our home park in Tallinn and need to attend training camps abroad to prepare for the most important competition of the season.

We're covering the costs of competing in New Zealand, but need your help to be able to go to various training camps during summer. With your help we’ll be practicing tricks on an airbag in Kläppen, Sweden and in an indoor snow park in Norway!

Alongside, we'll continue training in Estonia together with our coach Ranno Maasikmets. Ranno holds the highest level freestyle snowboard coach certification in Estonia. In Tallinn we’ll mostly still be training at Nõmme Snow Park, where we can ride on the dryslope and practice our tricks on rails and boxes. We also have regular strength and conditioning trainings, wakeboard trainings and skateboard trainings, which all help with our form on snow.

The cost of the preparations and trainings for the Championships is about 12,000 EUR per snowboarder, which we are individually responsible for covering. This is why we are requesting your support to help us cover our expenses and to achieve our goal of competing at the highest level.

This campaign will help us:

  • 2500 EUR helps us go to an airbag training camp in Kläppen, Sweden to train jumps
  • 4500 EUR helps us go to Kläppen and travel to Oslo to train on snow in an indoor snow park
  • 6500 EUR helps us train in Kläppen and attend two training camps in Oslo's indoor snow park

We are incredibly thankful to everyone who supports our journey to the Junior World Championships! Any amount helps us closer to our goal of being in best shape for New Zealand and our dream of securing our spots at the Winter Youth Olympics!

All rewards will be delivered to our supporters by post in July the latest. We will contact personally those supporters, who chose private trainings on the slopes with us.
