Ideeorav OÜ is a company that was founded in August 2023 and which operates under the i3Digit brand. The company was created on the initiative of 4 creative activists (Laurent, Mike, Sander and André), whose goal is to popularize 3D printing and offer a high-quality, fast, environmentally friendly and versatile alternative production method.
Why is it our passion?
3D printing has practically been around for as long as the Microsoft Windows operating system for computers, which is used by approximately one and a half billion people on a daily basis. However, most people are not aware of the existence of 3D printing or its possibilities for everyday life. Our goal is to make society aware of 3D printing and its ability to offer an alternative production method that has many different good features compared to traditional production methods.
This production method offers several alternative solutions to the existing production methods and the main advantages are:
- Personalized products, like a unique product or a personal item.
- The fastest way to prototype and develope products while reducing costs compared to other manufacturing methods.
- 3D printing makes it possible to create complex details, which in the traditional production method may prove to be limited or extremely expensive.
- Material savings from the production process, which does not generate a lot of production waste.
- Decentralized sourcing, which provides an opportunity to quickly manufacture products according to demand.
What other advantages are there in the field of 3D printing?
Enviromentally frendly
While 3D printing is mostly associated with the production and handling of polymers, i.e. plastics, then nowadays it has been possible to create various printable materials such as PLA, which are safer for the environment and also biodegradable. At the same time, the printed product still looks like ordinary plastic, the use of which should be limited in order to reduce environmental pollution. However, almost all 3D printable materials are recyclable and material manufacturers are working on creating a cleaner future.
Wide selection of materials
3D printing makes it possible to print products with different properties and textures, which can be plastic, wood, stone, metal or even rubber, as well as luminous, transparent and multi-colored details.
Why do we need your help so that our project could succeed?
Since the end result of our idea requires equipment that is expensive, we need your support in order to start faster with the creation of a more sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative production. And maybe you are our future customer who wants to give something symbolic and personal to a loved one or friend or develop a new product for a better service.
For this purpose, we have established different stages in order to achieve our goals:
- We need €2400 to purchase a "Creality Falcon 2" laser cutting machine, which provides an opportunity to expand the range of services and integrate 3D printing and laser cutting together. This price also includes the purchase of 3D printable materials with different properties and colors.
- The second goal is to collect €700 to purchase a brand new model Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printer, which allows to print smaller high-quality and multi-colored products with unprecedented speed and quality to improve the quality of our services.
- No company can offer a high-quality service if there is no comprehensive overview and a great e-shop in the form of a website. To this end, we have set out to collect €1300 in order to create a high-quality, comprehensive website for the company.
We have created a gift plan for each supporter so that your contribution does not go unnoticed, and we offer various souvenirs printed with the existing Bambu Lab X-1 printer as gifts, which we send to the Supporters by mail to a location of their choice.
Our idea will be successfully realized by the end of January 2024 at the latest.
The following text is not part of the project, but more detailed information, as the topic is indeed very broad and specific, which could take more than 2 pages of comperhensive information to explain.
Just in case, I emphasize once again that although grant money mostly goes to purchase equipment, the goal of the project is not only to buy equipment, but to start popularizing the trend of a new production method, which cannot be done just by "talking to people", but also requires examples, solutions, photo material. The production method has a number of positive results, the main ones of which we also wrote out in five points. In addition, the success of the project helps us to start possible cooperation relationships with local start-ups and small companies that would benefit from this kind of decentralized production. For this, we do not have a narrow target group, but practically everyone with a creative idea can get a "brand" or a product from us. We have acquired a 3D printer costing almost €2000 ourselves, which received the title of the best "invention" in the field of 3D printing technology in 2022 (2022 Time best inventions), and we are actively cooperating with a material manufacturer eSun, getting highly valued material for 3D printing, and they also aim to strive for a more environmentally friendly future.
