LadyFest needs a kickstart support for organising LadyFest Tallinn!

We are organising the only feminist festival in Estonia –  LadyFest –   a movement and an event in the same time. LadyFest is an independent and non-governmental DIY (do-it-yourself) initiative and the 2015th festival is already the 5th one!

LadyFest creates an environment where women and people who doubt in the traditional gender system and role expectations have the stage. LadyFest offers a real life meeting place for feminists and people interested in gender equality outside the social media platforms to meet and share stories.

We want to empower women, sex- and gender minorities to be active, to do things their way, to challenge aged role expectations, to react to social and structural injustice towards women and other minority groups and to support each other in solidarity. Everybody despite their gender, age or nationality are welcome to participate!

Festival will take place from 3rd till 7th of March 2015, right before the Estonian Womens` Day. You can participate in workshops on topics as repairing gadgets or wrestling; including mothers to feminist movements; constructing gender and identity; being an ally to transgender people etc. The programme includes a variety of literature, music and performance events and a feminist & queer movie programme in cinema Artis. The festival tops with a final party with live-bands and feminist celebration!

The full programme of the festival will be published in the end on February in our website www.ladyfest.ee. You can find all the news in the meanwhile at our Facebook page.

The festival is being organised pro bono but we still need financial help. With your support we can cover the cost of marketing, artists fees and materials needed for the workshops. Among other gifts, we will also make hand-made notebooks in cooperation with Estonian Printing Museum. The notebooks will be made from old book covers, specially picked by the team, and recycled paper.
