About the film
Peanuts is about the human desire to be seen. It tells the story of Ronja, who on her 25th birthday struggles to gain the attention she desires. Throughout the night, she gets more desperate, but finally ends up finding her crowd from an unexpected source.
Director's comment:
My name is Loviisa Jännes. I am 24 years old and so far I have directed around ten short films. This one will be the final film of my bachelor's degree.
As someone who dreams of working in the creative fields, it often feels like you are compelled to seek attention. With Peanuts, I want to explore themes of attention, resentment, and the human desire to be seen.
My goal is for my film to ask questions rather than teach lessons about important issues or moral truths. I hope our protagonist, Ronja, will evoke a range of emotions: discomfort, empathy, curiosity and perhaps even loathing?

We are a group of passionate student filmmakers from Baltic Film and Media School. The time has come for us to show what we have learned in our studies in our final project in the university. This is the big one.

Why do we need money?
The final scene of our film is a key moment, but it creates extra expenses in the production. It is set on a balcony and it will require special equipment and to execute it safely it will need help from stunt professionals. On top of that we of course need money for regular expenses like transportation, food for our crew and actors, production design and costumes.
