Director's words:
This story is inspired by a real-life event. In the year 2000 when my mother was relatively young, she had to take me, a newborn baby, to her wedding after-party photography gig because she couldn't find anyone to babysit. At the party I was stolen by some wedding guests, which nearly drove my mother to the brink of insanity as she searched for me amidst a sea of intoxicated party guests.
This is a story I get to hear every now and then.
I cannot fathom the desperation and emotional turmoil that such a situation would create for a young parent. My heart breaks as I listen to my mother's stories of how she gave everything to balance her photography career with raising a baby, only to ultimately throw in the towel and give up on her dream career.
I am driven to tell this story not only because it is personal but also because it is important. Although my mother was not and is not a single parent, her situation shares many parallels with the struggles faced by single parents. Being a young single parent in today's world is incredibly challenging. One must take care of a living being, provide for themselves and their child, and cope with a range of difficulties. This is far from an ideal situation, yet it is the reality for many.
Through this film, I hope to shed light on the social issue of "being a young single mother" and the responsibilities that come with it.
By the second year, we have learned many skills required to make a great short film. We have found a story that speaks to us, great actors and beautiful locations. However, we are still missing a chunk of money to bring this film to life - exactly 1500 euros. With this money, we will be able to keep our team fed, our equipment van running, and have some left over for the art department as well.
The production period will be 26.04-01.05
We are turning to you - our dear friend, family member, or even stranger - to help us collect the funds we need to make this film to the best of our abilities.
