Healing in unity
with the force of nature and with each other
Trust – instead of a fightback.
Life – instead of existence.
Get up and ride the wave!
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Rehab Camp BeU is a rehabilitation camp that offers support from surf coaches, doctors, yoga, meditation and dance teachers, as well as specialists in nutrition, massage, osteopathy and physiotherapy. People with special needs have an opportunity to heal by staying in unfamiliar environment and going through rehabilitation by taking Kundalini yoga classes, surfing and other techniques that offer a chance to communicate with the power of nature and the energy while conquering the ocean waves on a board.
The uniqueness of the project is in its non-standard approach to rehabilitation (yoga and surfing) and in integration of members into social life. It is about opening up new possibilities in career and creative realization. The approach can be truly considered a revolutionary one.
The method is developed by a founder of BeU fund Vladislav Loginov with the support of Kundalini Research Institute (KRI), Harvard University, Tartu University and 3HO Foundation. Moreover, the method is based on medical researches of the program "Operation Surf" and Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation, which use surfing to help people who were in difficult life circumstances to deal with physical and psychological traumas - a documentary "Resurface" about their achievements can be found on Netflix.
Through acquiring new skills in an unfamiliar environment, participants have a chance to reset and transform their victim mentality into a mindset of being a creative author of one's life.
Using our rehabilitation techniques, we teach to trust instead of resisting and to move towards the goals in the state of trust. The techniques show how to shift the focus from traumas to life, staying in a present moment. While conquering the waves, participants will feel the power and energy of life inside them. It is all about keeping the energy up, finding life's purpose, feeling support, connection and visualising new opportunities.
The project has garnered much interest from Harvard and Tartu Universities that have guaranteed support from their side.
FINANCIAL GOALS
Rehab Camp BeU is for children and adults with special needs. One camp is for a group from 10 to 20 people.
The first camp will take place (regardless of circumstances) at the end of July - beginning of August 2021. The camp events will be hosted in Russian (we plan to host these events in Estonian and English in a near future), on Aegna Island, in the camp "Kosmos".
If, with your support, we will collect 3000 euros, the camp will last for 3 days.
If we collect 5555 euros, the camp will last for 6 days.
The collected amount of money will cover participants' and their carers' food and living expenses, wages of surfing instructors, yoga and dance teachers, and the cost of all necessary equipment.
We have requested additional sources of funding from Ministry of Education and administrative board of the city of Tallinn.
The first camp will serve as the pilot test program, with a future potential of spreading to different places of the world. Prerequisite is a group of children/teenagers with special needs and their parents from around the world who care about their future and health. For some, this program might be the only chance for a real breakthrough.
