"Elu ring" is an animated film about alcohol addiction. This is a story about a man who, no longer able to cope with life's difficulties, finds himself on the street.
The idea of the film was born in August 2021, when the author of the film, Victoria Shmidt, photographed from the window of a tram some homeless people who were drinking alcohol at a tram stop. Who are these people? How did they get into this situation? After all, each of them has their own unique story.
The main idea of the film is to draw attention to the problem of alcoholism and show that people on the street are people too. But often the reasons for this situation and the continuation of drinking are their own choice.
With his simple but sincere and powerful music, the composer of the film, Kaspar Jancis, wants to convey the mood that prevails among people who have chosen the difficult albeit adventurous path of alcoholism.
"Elu ring" is a 2D hand-drawn animated film. All pre-production has already been done (consisting of preparation of characters, backgrounds, storyboard and animatic, as well as a draft sound). And now the production period begins. Eesti Kunstiakadeemia allocated part of the funding for the production of the film, but this money is only sufficient for sound design. At the moment, the film does not have enough funding for production, therefore we need your help to actually make the film happen!
We use your support to create final animation, music, and post-production of the film. The intention is to premiere the film already this August at the Animist Tallinn festival.
