Krishangi Lila
Krishangi Lila is a bhakti singer, shamanic voice healer and a facilitator of mantra singing workshops. She was born in Estonia but has spent most of her living abroad. She lived 12 years in bhakti yoga ashram in South Belgium, Radhadesh where she came in contact with kirtan tradition and mantra chanting. Last few years she has been travelling around the world and has been given voice toning healing workshops in Estonia, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, Taiwan, Thailand and in India. India though has become like her second home where she always returns for longer periods for pilgrimages to holy places and her studies in Indian classical Dhrupad singing with Gundecha Brothers.
Krishangi Lila holds a BA in Western Classical Singing from The Norwegian State Academy of Music (2000) and she has complemented her vocal studies with different techniques and teachers from various traditions. She has studied with Orlanda Cook at Pantheatre in Paris, dhrupada singing with Gundecha brothers in Bhopal.
In 2008 she released her album “Divine Love” that is based on the holy texts from Shrimad Bhagavatam and music composed with a touch of western medieval and Indian music.
Recently she has been working on a new world music fusion project called Lila, where east meets the west in sufi rhythms, Estonian folk music and Indian raga inspirations performed by Ziya Tabassian (daf, tombek) and Jonathan Kay (esraj, saxophone) and Krishangi Lila as voice.
Her interest in the mysteries of sound has lead her to research deeper into to esoteric understanding of voice and how it can become the instrument for healing and prayer, guide for inner journeys and a bridge to the higher divine realms. As a facilitator of shamanic voice journeys she guides people back to their soulsong and freedom of expression. She believes in the power of voice which is the tool for transformation and self realization.
